← Back to All ToolsHow WFS pricing works
Walmart Fulfillment Services charges on three axes at once, and sellers usually only model one of them. The per-unit fulfillment fee moves with shipping weight, the storage fee moves with cubic feet and the month of the year, and the referral fee moves with category. Change any one and the margin changes, which is why a spreadsheet built around a single average fee tends to be wrong by the time stock lands.
WFS bills on the greater of actual weight and dimensional weight. A light but bulky product gets billed as if it were heavy, and that is where most cost surprises come from. Measure the packed box, not the product, and check which side of the tier boundary you land on. Half an ounce can move you a whole tier.
Off-peak storage runs cheaper than peak, and Q4 carries a surcharge for inventory sitting longer than about a month. Long-term fees escalate sharply past nine or ten months. The practical rule is to plan replenishment so nothing crosses those boundaries, rather than paying for the convenience of a deep buffer.
WFS has no monthly seller subscription, which shifts the arithmetic against a platform that charges one. At low volume that saving matters a great deal; at high volume it is noise next to fulfillment and referral. Run the numbers at your real monthly units rather than at one unit.

By shipping weight tier, where shipping weight is the greater of actual and dimensional weight. Each tier has a flat per-unit price, so crossing a boundary raises the fee in a step rather than smoothly.
No. Walmart Marketplace does not charge a monthly seller subscription, so your fixed costs are lower than on a platform that does. You still pay referral, fulfillment and storage.
Storage is billed per cubic foot per month, at a lower off-peak rate and a higher peak rate, with additional surcharges for inventory held over roughly a month during Q4 and long-term fees past nine to ten months.
It depends on weight, size and volume rather than on the platform. Use the FBA vs WFS comparison to run the same product through both fee schedules side by side.
