Walmart charges a referral fee of 6–15% by category and no monthly subscription, which makes it cheaper than Amazon for most sellers. The trade-off is far lower traffic, so volume is usually a fraction of Amazon.
WFS fees are broadly competitive with FBA and it unlocks the two-day badge that most Walmart buyers filter for. On slow-moving items the storage cost outweighs the badge, so run the number per SKU rather than per catalogue.
Walmart approves international sellers but the application is stricter than Amazon and normally requires a registered business, a tax ID and a proven marketplace history. Many applications are rejected on first attempt.
Because referral fees are lower, 20% net is workable where Amazon would need 25–30%. Price competition is the bigger risk — Walmart actively suppresses listings priced above other retailers.
